Sequoia National Forest — Ten Mile Road
Camp Review
We camped on a forest road pullout near Ten Mile Road.
The site was pretty level without much shade, but that was a good thing as the sun warmed us up. The camper was practically toasty—until we opened up the back door, which let the cool air in.
Being a forest road, there were zero cars that drove by from when we parked until we drove off. We awoke with birdsong instead of the sound of a car rushing by.
Obviously, there were no amenities. We tried our best to leave the pullout in the same condition we found it in, sans foot and tire prints.
What Happened?
I had researched where to disperse camp near Kings Canyon National Park, and one of them was pullouts near Ten Mile Road. When I arrived on the road, I thought it’d be especially nice to camp on an even smaller road, which would mean less traffic and prying eyes.
So, I took the first side road that I spied and settled Ramona in the first pullout that looked level. We popped up the camper, brushed our teeth, and pretty much went straight to bed.
In the morning, we brushed our teeth, popped down the camper, and drove off to Kings Canyon National Park to behold the beauty of the Giant Sequoia trees.
